What song(s) do you REALLY dislike?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

PashaRu wrote: 14 Oct 2014, 15:22 Okay, so we have a thread about your favorite song(s), but everyone has songs that really ANNOY them. Now's your chance to vent!

My first entry:

"Happy" by Pharrel Williams. Overplayed, overhyped, and just ANNOYING!

I'm not a fan of hardcore, loud angst music, I'm not a fan of hip-hop too much, I dislike the songs in The Wedding Singer Musical and songs that play over and over again.

Lately, it's not so much the song being awful, just overplayed. If I have to hear cheerleader, Gucci gang or some sort of mumble rap again I will shoot someone.

Lots of recent songs, honestly. First one that comes to mind is "All About That Base." Just, no.

I literally came to this thread to say the same song!! That song instantly puts me in a bad mood. And because I have younger siblings/work with kids often, I, unfortunately, hear it a lot. They love it, but I absolutely can't stand it.

Wow! This song didn't even cross my mind. Probably because when I dislike something my brain nixes it from my life. 😏

I was actually going to just say degrading songs and overly sexualixed songs.

Yes!!! Even when this song was first coming out, I hated it. I couldn't fathom why so many people around me liked it.

I'm with some of the people above in that I don't necessarily dislike any broad genres (some metal can get to be a little much—after the 8 minute mark of growling, they really start to lose me). However, some radio songs really need to get in the cooler for awhile. "The Middle" by Zedd, Grey, and Maren Moris comes to mind.

So you ever get that feeling of joy when a new song-worm has sprung from a playlist, yeah until it gets annoying . And here's to list a few:
'Base', by megan trainor.
'Bodak Yellow', by Cardi B.
'Motorsport,'Cardi B ect.
'Andaconda', Nicki Minaj.
There's loads.

For some reason I have always loathed the song "Brandy You're a Fine Girl."

I like Taylor Swift, but the song "Gorgeous" is terribly annoying, in my opinion. And, it repeats like every half hour on the loop they play at work. UGH!!
