I am trying to teach myself to play the flute. Have not had much success so far, but hope to get better.

I played the piano and clarinet when I was younger. I've let those skills slide with age. I was always more interested in listening to music than in making my own.

I played clarinet all through elementary and junior high school. I took piano lessons for a few years. Then I realized my gift was in keeping time so I asked my parents for a drum set. They weren't agreeable so I had to wait until I moved out at 18. It was my first major purchase and has been my life-long love. I'm now 56 and have played on and off for personal pleasure and with a few bands. What a gift. It takes me away to another level, what they call 'in the zone', and helps release frustrations and tension. I never had any formal training. I learned by putting on my headphones and listening to AC/DC. I'm by far the best but I love being a drummer!

I have attempted to play different instruments with a varying degree of success in all of them. The instrument that i have mastered however, is the recorder. There are other instruments that I play as well. This includes the drum and guitar though with less mastery.

I can use to play the saxophone in high school. Absolutely love it I think that's one of the reasons why I love writing songs now.
