Agreed!

I'm inspired & intrigued by Allen Ginsberg. Paul Lawrence Dunbar is a treasure.

My brother and I recite Frost and Poe to one another; with dramatic voice and gestures. It's great fun. I encourage all grown-ups to try it sometime

I don't really read poetry, but I had to read some for school, and that's how I started feeling great respect for some men.
I admire Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj as a poet and a wonderfull person.
He was from Serbia, and I don't know about good english translation.

Robert Frost is the one who comes to mind first. I know there are others, but his "The Road Not Taken" has always been one of my favorite poems.

Anything new. Older poets generally are dull but the beat poets are really inspirational.

I'm a big fan of both Shane Koyczan and Andrea Gibson, both poets exhuberate so much passion with their work and don't hold back any emotions.

I am obsessed with African American poetry because I consider them so deep. I also love Gwendolyn Brooks but Maya Angelou is my all-time favorite

I recently picked up a small books of Kipling's poems, I reread "Gunga Din" which I had studied in high school. I had forgotten how moving that poem is, you start out reading thinking it's just some British soldier complaining and then it ends up being a moving commentary on humanity.

I don't really write poetry (though I'm in a poetry class right now, I'm a fiction writer), so I can't really say any poet as influenced me stylistically; however, I can say that William Butler Yeats was the poet to really get me to appreciate poetry. I'm happy to have been fortunate enough to have taken a class on his poetry.

Some of my favorite poems from Yeats are (links to poems included): The Song of Wandering Aengus, The Wild Swans at Coole, and The Lake Isle of Innisfree.
J.K. Rowling - Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban wrote:Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. 🔥
