SHE SKATES RINGS AROUND SATURN


Ethereal traveler, lover of night
Enters my heart airy and light
Chanting of love in Her mystical tones
Lifting my heart to worlds yet unknown
I ask Her if there’s a design or a pattern
She answers no and skates rings around Saturn

Soaring to heights I'd never believed
Explaining those mysteries I'd never perceived
Giving me wings to fly to the stars
To planets Venus, Jupiter, Mars
I’m left with energy to burn
While She skates rings around Saturn

Gazing aloft as she glides on the breeze
The stars and the planets obey Her decrees
This Goddess of the heavenly realms
My mind and heart She’s overwhelmed
So much to see, so much to learn
As She skates rings around Saturn

A gifted Angel from above
Has spread Her wings and shown Her love
Who knows for sure from whence she came
My life will never be the same
For in my heart I'll always yearn
To watch her skate rings around Saturn

As morning light begins to shine
And She becomes a dim outline
I sleep by day and wait for night
When once again we take to flight
The music plays her song nocturne
As She skates rings around Saturn

I love this poem; it's refreshing to read a poem with depth. This is an example of how you can rhyme without overdoing it. The trick is to use it in a way that lets the poem flow. Love it!
