I want to read that...maybe I'll read it next.
I also have Hell House by Richard Matheson on my list.

Any suggestions?

Ooo I think I'm going to read Hell House next...or maybe the Woman In Black.

Pet Sematary by Stephen King was interesting...but I have not read much in the Horror or Supernatural genres.

I've found myself interested in The Woman in Black recently...probably won't get to it for a while...

You couldn't go wrong with any of them @KNewton and @GraveRobber :) Me personally, these are all going on my TBR list :)

@kio
Will sub-genres be covered in this?

@Graverobber I think it would be hard not to cover them, so I think will cover them under the larger genre heading and discuss as much of it as we can over the course of the month. If the group wants to , we can always choose to read and delve further into specific subgenres in later months as well :)

So, I have stayed away from horror movies because I have had a very poor experience with The Exorcist when I was child (couldn't even sleep at night for several nights!). In turn, I've stayed away from books in this genre. However, being older, I'm willing to give it a try. Are there any suggestions of what Stephen King book(s) to read? Potentially something not too long and not too scary :).

If they are all long and scary, maybe more of a paranormal-type book?

Thank you, kio, for organizing this!

For something paranormal but not scary, you could try 'The Green Mile'. You could also try 'Misery', which has a little bit of gore but is more more psychologically focused and not in any way paranormal.
