MOTM April 2018: CommMayo

Post by bookowlie »

I am pleased to announce the April 2018 Member of the Month…CommMayo! She has been an active participant on the site since joining in 2017. Armed with a degree in English, CommMayo admits to “burning through books at a really rapid rate.” CommMayo writes well-written, perceptive reviews and routinely supports other reviewers. She also participates in the Book of the Month and other reading discussions. When I see her username in a topic, I know I can count on an interesting comment that adds depth to the discussion. Please join me in a round of applause for CommMayo, our newest addition to the MOTM family!

A lot of dancing to celebrate your reign, CommMayo! Enjoy the month!

I know you cook, you hate bad grammar, and you have pet fish. Hoping to get to know you even better.

Congratulations, milady! :tiphat:

P.S. I've always been curious about your avatar. Is your hubby allergic to chicken? Or am I just so dense I couldn't get the joke?

You are not the only one to wonder. A lot of people just assumed I was a man, too.

The joke is that my husband will divorce me if I get any more chickens, so I have to hide them from him. People tend to drop them off at my house and I've been known to buy some baby chicks to make me feel better after a really hard day. I had one friend drop off a rooster and it took my husband two months to figure it out  He was not amused...

Oh, so it's a private joke. Thanks for assuring me I'm not that dense after all. Another question, if you don't mind my asking: Is that man your husband? He looks like Kenny Rogers to me ( maybe because I'm thinking chickens!).

Now I get it. I don't think we have that ad in my country. But we do have Kenny Rogers, haha!

LOL you know, it's funny - people claim there are substances you can't get addicted to. Yet your situation reminds me of these secret knitters who buy balls of yarn secretly, etc.
