:D Thank you. I had a cat just like yours. Soon after moving out here, I found her sitting on a fresh mound of dirt deposited by a badger who was trying to dig out a ground squirrel. Every once in a while, the badger would stick his head out of the hole, whereupon they would exchange some form of communication. He would then disappear within his hole to continue his pursuit. She didn't seem a bit threaten by the badger and the badger didn't show any hostile intent toward her - although he did seem to be annoyed a bit by her nosy intrusion. I think she was trying to tell him that the squirrel had already made use of his emergency exit and was now sitting high on a branch observing both of them.

The books on the shelf are just for show, just like on Goodreads, and can't be downloaded. It helps one to keep track of his books. The Bookshelves' FAQ explains it in details.
