It got mugged.

Their empire imploded before we could get the party started. :)

It is sad, and yet they brought it upon themselves. :(

Which reminds me that I have all seven volumes of Gibbon's Decline And Fall Of The Roman Empire to read before I die. I have had a beautiful set of them sitting on my bookshelves for the last ten years. I fear it will take me longer to read them than it took Rome to decline. How did those English public school students ever do it? ... and THEY had to read it in Latin too. The only thing worse than a nun is an English professor of Latin classics.

Hahaha.

I too have a beautiful folio set of "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire". It was in fact the first set of books I ordered after joining Folio. They truly are beautiful books. Much to my shame, I have never gotten around to reading them either. Universally regarded as the best historical writing about the fall of the Roman Empire, and I have never read it.
I will have to read it this year. :)

Ha ha ha

You and Gannon should take your comedy act on the road. :) It's been an amusing month with both of you "performing" here.

You and Gannon should keep it going by starting a jokes thread in the Community/OT subforum!

-- 03 Apr 2016, 11:10 --

I just found an existing Jokes thread so I resurrected it. :)
