Re: Member of the Month Nominations

With all the technology we have at our fingertips today, I just think it is incredibly poor to come across mistakes especially in published works.
I probably went a bit over the top suggesting the 'demise of standards in modern' life was due to people not being bothered by spelling mistakes in books. :D

You DID NOT go over the top at all. I agree with you completely. In the old times they didn't even have spell checker programs and they still did a better job than editors do today.

I think it is great to recognize readers. I personally am not here as a reader for the recognition but rather to increase my love of reading. Congratulations to all of the motm nominees it is a great accomplishment.

Just one person the nomination ?
You must have completed three of the following to even be considered as MOTM:

1) Fought a hungry bear or tiger with your bare hands.
2) Have previous experience as an astronaut.
3) Surfed the 2011 Japanese tsunami.
4) Climbed Mt. Everest.
5) Willingly used a toilet immediately after Donald Trump did.
6) Won an Olympic gold medal (or three silver medals).
7) Hugged an anaconda.
8 ) Read War and Peace in less than twenty minutes and passed a 20 question test on it.
9) Bribed Leo Tolstoy to share his crib sheet with you (see #8).
10) Worn a turkey carcass on your head for a month. (My personal favorite.)

Really. I have done all these. Nominate me?
But the real question is how to win this title ?

:o :o :o I'll never be MOTM hahaha no but I'm curious to know how it actually works, someone already probably explained and I'm way too new in the community to be selected, but it's a fun little trick. I always notice Lincoln's gold nickname haha

Arrigo,

Don't give up hope. They also choose MOTMs for their contributions to the forums. I will never know why I was chosen. The moderators may have been drinking too much vino on the day they selected me. :oops2:
