Past tense of "Drag"

I asked my 16 year-old granddaughter which of these was correct: "I drug the box across the room" or "I dragged the box across the room". She said, "I drug the box... is better. I dragged the box... sounds like you're a third grader." Gotta laugh at that. Funny thing is, the way the younger generation speaks will eventually become what is considered correct.

It should be dragged but in some cases i saw drug being used instead

Drug sounds really strange, I'll try to make more research on this.

I would think that dragged is the correct word. The word drug is medicinal in nature or that stuff people pump into their bodies in order to be ecstatic.
