I just wanted to clarify a couple things before submitting. Should branches of the military be capitalized? For example: Marines, the Marines, etc.

When referring to a certain genre of books, should it be capitalized? I was confused because I first put Christian Fiction. However, I think it should be Christian fiction.

It's probably too late for this particular case, but maybe this will come in handy at another time.

Here are links regarding capitalization rules for military branches:

And here is a link about capitalizing genres (the short answer is they should not be capitalized):

I think I was able to find the answer I needed, but I really appreciate these links for future reference!

I would conclude that the branches should be capitalized as they are proper nouns(names of places and things), also always add “the” before the Marines, it needs a subject.

The second option is correct, Christian is a proper noun while fiction is not.

Thank you. I got this resolved a while back, but I appreciate your answer.

As it is (Marine) a proper noun, it should be capitalized wheather it is a branch of military or not.And the same for other proffessions.
