Awkward Phrasing

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

If you're talking about marking errors as you read a book, you can't just say that it was awkwardly phrased. An objective error must be given to put it on the list of errors. That said, you can certainly mention that there were awkward phrases in the review, especially if it distracted your reading.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

It's subjective - it may sound disharmonious to your inner ear as you read it. You may find yourself stumbling over it if you read it aloud.

Sentences may be awkward if they have too many commas or are otherwise too cluttered. They may have redundancies.

I got lots of hits for "awkward sentences" on Google. They are sentences where something just doesn't seem right.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".
