Granted: now all the roads there are beautifully constructed footpaths but you can no longer drive anywhere.

I wish I had more time to read.

Granted, but it would suck up all your time to do anything else!

I wish I could see - through boring books and avoid reading them!

Granted: But with time comes life experience and appreciation of things you once did not like, much the same as discovering one loves a food which as a child you abhorred. All of the books you avoided reading as a result of the fulfillment of your wish are, years later, books you would love, but will never read.

I wish I had invested in Apple stock 20 years ago.

Granted, but think of all those life-skills you learnt instead of wallowing in riches (which was a very ANNOYING comment, sorry!)

I wish I had smaller feet!

Granted: You now have the feet of a four year old and are working as a circus curiosity.

I wish I had a container of chocolate ice cream in front of me right now.

Granted: Unfortunately you've forgotten to put it away. It has since melted leaving only a chocolate mess of heartache and soggy box in it's wake.

I wish that I had a life supply of smoking wood.

Granted: Your entire house / apartment is now filled from floor to ceiling with packs of wooden cigarettes.

I wish I liked broccoli better. (Cause it's good for you.)

Granted, but all your friends would label you as a vegetarian and a goody two shoes and they'd stop inviting you to wild parties.

I wish I had wings to fly anywhere I wanted to.

Granted, but your wings are too big to fit into the sizzling bodycon dress you've chosen for your sloppy cousin's second wedding so instead, you'll have to wear an oversized blazer.

I wish I could turn on invisibility whenever I see someone I want to avoid.

Granted: But the person you wanted to avoid is looking for you to tell you that they bought a lottery ticket in both their name and yours and your half alone is in the tens of millions.

I wish I could find my other hat. I've been looking for it for days and I am positive that it is in the house .... SOMEWHERE.

Reminds me of a Steven Wright (author of my sig quote) joke.

"There is a light switch in my house that doesn't do anything. From time to time as I walk by I flip it on and off just for the heck of it. The other day I got a phone call from a woman in Germany. She said, "Stop that!!!"

Granted. But your Online book club account gets deleted because someone hacks the system, and only your account is affected.

I wish to revoke the statement above. I wish that the previous wisher's wish will be granted.

Granted, but it's the last thing to happen before the end of the entire world (except for this site, which is redundant without anyone to use it).

Granted, but it only occurs when you are driving an automobile alone.

I wish that this thread was more upbeat.
