How do you find local book clubs that suit your tastes?

Post by stanigator »

I have a hard time finding it at the location I live, hence signed up for an account here and posted this question. Are the best book clubs generally found through your friends? Do you typically adapt the book you're reading specifically for the available book clubs, or do you remain patient to find a book club that suits your tastes? Is reading intended to be a solitary activity given how personal it is?

Looking forward to your input.

I've found book clubs in different places. In two of the neighborhoods we lived in, there were book clubs. In one town, I posted on the town Facebook page about starting one & had 10 women interested within the day. 5 of those women met for 6 years, with a few others coming in & out (military community). In my current locale, I found one on MeetUp. We are no longer on Meetup but are going strong. If you can't find one, start one!
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.
