I know this is out of order, as I'm the most recent poster, but I really like this thread and would like to start it off again - so I will answer my own question and say 'washing line' (unless it's raining!) and pose the question ....

Penguins or Polar Bears?

Smile, while I try to work out what your answer has to do with penguins and polar bears - glad it's not just me with a faulty brain gene today!!!

Hmmm, your choices are interesting!

I'll go for straight. Safer answer, lol.

Lincolnshirelass, I'll go for penguins, especially those with happy feet. Did you know that penguins are found only in the South Pole (Antarctica), and polar bears only in the North Pole (Arctic)?

Sheesh... Tough one.

I'm going to have to pick blue, though if I start with black, I tend not to want to introduce blue to the same notebook.

I guess I haven't really answered the question now, have I? Lol.
