Can I win with TOMORROW!?

(If so, I may faint.)
Pronouns: She/Her

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.

Yes, Gravy! I think I jinxed my chances at winning today because of my word, lol!

Your word next! No fainting allowed this month. We already had too much fainting with last month's BOTM.

Thanks for the tip about the yay buttons, Miriam. Hopefully, I'll be OK next time my entries build up again. Fingers crossed for you today.

Helen, I am growing beans and carrots on my balcony, which I could parcel up and send to you. Perhaps you will have to start living the Good Life too, though?

Thank you. I am living the good life. I have carrots out the front, beans, peas, cabbage, tomatoes, lettuce and onions out the back and chillies on the windowsill. I’m mainly worried about running short of staples like wine and chocolate

Sounds great. I love the way home-grown stuff tastes. I hope that the government will pull something off, but I'd seriously send you chocolate (care packages!) Cadbury's is mostly not made in Birmingham any more, right?

Ooh, I forgot the two apple trees and a plum.

Cadburys in Bournville is still going strong. They outsourced Dairy Milk to Poland while they upgraded the factory, but they’re bringing it back now. The Bournville site is a huge tourist attraction both for Cadbury World and the Bourneville model village (they were Quakers, so no pubs!)

The question will be whether they can get the ingredients.

If there is a chocolate drought, I shall be turning my spaniel eyes to you.

Still no rain.

Oh gosh, you must need the water for all those growing things. I visited Cadbury World about a year ago. We were a bit disappointed to see so little going on in the actual factory - I didn't realize the move to Poland was temporary. Wringing the rainwater out of the boards on the balcony and DHL'ing it to you ...

I went a few years back too and was also disappointed until I got chatting to one of the guides who had worked there since he was a young man, back when the Cadbury family still owned the factory. He singlehandedly turned the day into a tremendous success with his recollections. I also loved the model town. Why do we not have philanthropic industry leaders who care about their workers anymore?

All water gratefully accepted. :tiphat:

What’s happened to Gravymaster of bookshelves?

We need a word before I start reminiscing of ’when I were a lass...’

Yes, I think they had the right idea. They're trying to bring in 12-hour working days in Austria; someone I was talking to today was saying that when people used to work 80-hour weeks in the 19th century, life expectancy was 40. Anyway, hmm, yes, we do need a word.

Wow, I am learning a lot here apart from words. Current events, history (didn't know the Cadburys were people! How about the Hersheys?), gardening, etc. Now I know why you need the bees, Helen. You're a farmer; that's the good life! Maybe you need to learn how to do a rain dance.

BTW, would you know whatever happened to Lincolnshirelass? I've been missing her.
