Heavens! My review is book of the day! :shock2:

There I was, wondering why there was suddenly so much interest, and making reciprocal posts as I always do. :eusa-think:

Then it finally dawned on me.

Congratulations! What a wonderful feeling, right? I only experienced it once, though, with "Shattered Perfection." Sometimes I resent the other reviewers who seem to pick all the right books, LOL!

BTW, I just had a blurb dispute, with the author looking for the critique. I wonder if the authors all know what the private blurb is for. :eusa-think:

It did feel great. It also popped me up a level on the review ladder. *more partying*

I raised that question over blurbs on the suggestions forum. A surprising number of authors don’t seem to know what the blurb is for.

Double congratulations! Now if the rains come, your day would be perfect!

I guess I will have to include the "This is not the review" speech with the blurb. Might save the authors and me precious time and bad feelings. What mystifies me is why she knew what rating I gave without having read my review.

That sounds like a glitch. I’d report it.

I had BOTD only once too, and as I still haven't done a particularly large number of reviews, it hauls up my popularity score to this day. I know what you mean, Miriam - though sometimes it can take years for something to become BOTD. There's a thread on the blurbs in which Kislany said she c/ps the text explaining what the blurb is for.

I guess I will have to do what Kislany does. My blurbs are already super long as is, but I don't want the bother of a dispute, not to mention the penalty. I remember your Elastic Girl review on BOTD. No

I wonder how Gravy is doing with her crazy things.

I hope it gets sorted. The only time I had a dispute was my own fault because I think I sounded too critical, so the author's response was defensive. (We are cautioned against sounding too positive or negative!) When I responded, though, I said: "Please feel free to ask me anything you like to validate that I read the whole book carefully." I know what you mean about wanting to avoid the hassle, though. Good luck!

Thanks, amiga! The dispute has been resolved. I replied by explaining the purpose of the private blurb and saying that the critique she was looking for was in the review proper.

I wonder why there's a "No" after BOTD in my earlier post. I don't remember putting it there.

I wondered what that was too! But I didn't take it as a comment on my review.
