Unfortunately, I read novels more. I wish I could say that I read my Bible more often than I do.

hi there. Sorry to dig up an old post, but it made me happy.

It really goes in spurts for me. lately, it's been my Bible more, and God has been teaching me the importance of coming to his word daily in the attitude of desperation--whether or not I feel that way. The impact on my life has been CRAZY!!!! Hallelujah! If you want to read more (or want the desire to read more) than just ask him to give it to you. He loves those kinds of prayers.

Oh, I was referring to when this thread originally started, and the last post on it was in July. That's all! But it made me happy so I couldn't resist commenting!

I read novels more. I really enjoy Christian novels by Francine Rivers and Lynn Austin for example. I learn more from them then I do the bible. The bible is hard to understand so it's nice to have someone write a story to better relate to it.

I share your thought on Christian novels especially by Francine Rivers, but despite the fact I read novels more I still can't compare it to the Bible, the book itself is a revelation but I appreciate your assertiveness. Thanks

The Bible is sometimes hard to get or relate to, I think it requires harder dedication and/or divine inspiration

I concur, the Bible isn't and will never be a novel, you have to read it slowly and repeatedly, infact the Bible is a unique being on its own
