I think grammar and spelling, etc, is no big deal in an informal setting.

That is, as long as the message/sentiment is conveyed.

I've actually cussed-out people for taking issue with my grammar/spelling/syntax in off the cuff emails back and forth.

In those instances, I took a measured and coldly calculated approach to the responses -- making sure to verbally eviscerate the recipient.

There have been no repeat offenders...
