Re: 20 questions Guess My Character
WOW! I'm stumped. I don't read a lot of contemporary books. Sometimes the more popular ones. There are so many contemporary books that I'm sure I wouldn't guess it.
I was going to say Golum from The Lord Of The Rings

Helpful(?) hint: it is a respectively popular fantasy.

(Guess) I know this is more Sci-Fi than fantasy but I'm just taking a shot.
Is the character HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey ?

The character is not a machine.
No, it isn’t Golem or HAL.

9) Actually, I'm thinking that perhaps we have different ideas of the meaning of "contemporary" so I will just ask, was it written in the first half of the 20th century?

Guess : Legolas from The Lord Of The RIngs --- just taking a shot.
Tolkien wasn't published until slightly into the second half of the 20th century though he did write in the first half.

My character was Drizzt!
Who are these beasts considered my kin?
I see no amity or flickering soul residing within.
Drizzt feels unattached to the rest of his family who are heartless, cold rulers of a main house following the spider queen.
Only one beast is encouraged to befriend me,
Darker than all, but never to be free.
Drizzt's black panther companion, Guenhwyvar, is an astral tiger who returns to the astral plane to heal after battles.
Up, up, up we must go,
Blinded by the light of places unknown.
Drizzt and Guenhwyvar leave the underworld of the dark elves to join the daylight races.

It's perfectly ok to write garbage, as long as you edit brilliantly.
