Re: 20 questions Guess My Character

Well, given that your favorite book is The Martian, which does deal with space travel, and Chris Beck was the guy who recovered Watney (at great risk to his life I might add) thus "saving the day", I will say Chris Beck.

Right book, wrong character

Adult book though young adults would enjoy it too.
Published post-2000
Not the main character.
Male character
Has been made into a film
Not based on real life
Sci-fi genre
Male author
Not part of a series
No aliens
It’s a possible future, certainly not dystopian
The character is an adult
The character is not a villain, in fact, he saves the day
Not The Soldier With The Limp (don't think he had a name) from World War Z by Max Brooks
Not Chris Beck from The Martian
Book is The Martian

Then it has to be either Dr. Purnell or the Chinese president. I can't think of anyone else.

WINNER!

It is indeed Rich Purnell, the Steely-Eyed Missile Man who calculated the slingshot orbit.
Well done

It took me awhile to make the connection between your favorite book as mentioned in your avatar description and the book I needed to find the character. Right in front of my eyes all the time. Sneaky, sneaky sneaky .... but fun! [:- )

OK .... here we go .... nothing sneaky from me this time.

1) Female author
2) Technically from a children's book but also greatly read and appreciated by adults.
