Black widow?
Spider yes, black widow, no. Scarier than a black widow (though possibly not as dangerous).

You are extremely close.

Tarantula is the specific answer ----- The Goliath Bird Eater is considered a tarantula, so yes,

you are a winner.

(Note: the term "spiders" is too general with regard to the clues. Some spiders are small and not very frightening, or "dangerous looking", but a tarantula is a very frightening and imposing spider as a result of its size.)

It was a great animal riddle.

Here's my riddle:
I am the part of the bird that's not in the sky.
I can swim in the ocean, yet remain dry.
What am I?

OK, this may be a stretch but .....

A bird that is not in the sky = a swimming duck

The part of this bird that swims = webbed feet.

I know it's lame, but that's all I got for now.

Lol! That's a good reason but not the answer.
Also, it's the part of the bird and not a bird. Think about it.

That's a good answer but an egg will get wet. Think about something which can be on water and remain dry.
Hint:Even humans have this.

Something we have on our insides? Organs? I guess that's the only part of us that would remain dry.
