True, thats all gone. All that comes in the mail now is garbage. I check my mail every month or so, 90 percent stays in the post office garbage can.

I havent used an ink pen since grade school. We were required to use them, our teacher said ball points were for lazy bums. I remember those days, dip, write. dip, write. A real pain.

We couldnt even use the refillable pens in school. Yes, I remember the inkwells. We had the old wooden pens, but at least they wernt quill. I think our teacher would have made those if she thought she could get away with it.

I think that just means adding "share this" buttons maybe?

Plug-ins make a site slow if you add anything bigger, IMO....but being able to "like" or "+1" a site could have its benefits, if someone maintained the pages. People who aren't using facebook need not be scared that they'll be targeted or anything.
StephenKingman wrote:Well, nobody writes letters anymore for a start! Not unless you are over 50 anyway. As for Facebook, its still a popular method of keeping in touch between like minded people. I personally would never use Linked In as its more of a professional website than an informal "chat between mates" website and Facebook is great for seeing the holiday pictures of people you dont see much after they move away, have kids etc. Facebook and email are certainly lifesavers for me when it comes to maintaining friendships and it can be done once or twice a week and not the usual sad "I just had a burger, please like me" posts from emotionally empty people..
Lol, I guess I'm an old timer. Not even 30, still writing letters. There's something satisfying about writing a letter and telling your friends weird things. I found a bunch of Christmas postcards I got in a set as a child and am going to mail them this Christmas, just for fun. Nothing like 98 Degrees postcards to old chums. Anyhow, I agree about FB, but I find it creepy how easily you can get other people's information from the site. All in one little packet, apparently. My sis is a web developer.

I would like something I can hand out to writers that live in my community, well I travel some also. with the logo and some truthful information about the book club, what to expect etc. you never know what will happen when you spread the word. The groups on facebook for writers have never herd of the site.

Hi I'm new here but if I find this forum great then I will certainly recommend it to my friends. I'm used to recommending things anyway so it will just come naturally.

I love the onlinebookclub always retweets my tweets when I talk about my reviews on Twitter! Makes me feel so special! It's the only time I feel like anyone ever reads what I have to say.

Thanks!
But hey, I'm not a kid! I growed already! I'm a big girl now. My MowMow said so.

I have no idea what that means, btw. 8)
