Is it Atreyu from The Neverending Story?

If not, does the story involve an animal character?

Gravy - VERY good character choice and clues!!!

NL Hartje - Feel free at anytime to post the clues for your next character.

Suggestion: Maybe it would be easier to keep track of how many questions have been asked if after each person asks question they number it. In other words, if the last question they asked was the sixth question their question would lead off with the number. i.e.

6) Is the person female or male?

Clue:

Who are these beasts considered my kin?
I see no amity or flickering soul residing within.
Only one beast is encouraged to befriend me,
Darker than all, but never to be free.
Up, up, up we must go,
Blinded by the light of places unknown.

(I'm worried this is too many clues...)

Man, you've read me like a book! The character has human qualities but I think technically would be defined as a humanoid.

Gravy

The character is male.

He is a derivative of a popular humanoid but his race is not stereotypical.
