Re: 20 questions Guess My Character

4) She is not married.

5) She lives in the 19th century.

There is a lot of metaphor and word play in my hint poem.

Very good question, and I am glad you asked it because my poem seems to indicate that the character IS the main character ...

6. ... however, she is not.

I must head off to a meeting. I'll return later to see if there are any more replies.

OK ... it seems I have stumped the panel.

The answer is Mina (Harker's fiancee) from Dracula.

Does anyone want to pick it up from here ? - You would give hints to a total of 20 questions to guess the name of a literary character you have secretly pre-chosen.

My mistake (above) ... the answer is Lucy Westenra, MIna's friend. It's been so long I got everything all kerplunkeded *LOL*

========================

Answer to my original riddle hints

This fair-skinned creature, more fair to be,
(She is fair skinned but when her blood is drained she will be even paler.)

Communes with another as fair as she.
(Communes with Mina who is also fair and lovely.)

Suitors has she by the score and
Though lacking not she pines for more.

(She flirts with men and has three suitors.)

Her will succumbs to a noble gent;
A heathen, a scoundrel but she is fain to repent.

(1) Nobility = Dracula is a count 2) She falls under his seduction after being bitten once.)

She is rescued through love - a higher caste,
Whose power none can survive the blast.

God's power which is greater than Dracula's and as seen in the crucifix and the communion wafer.

Who, oh who, can this fair creature be?
Twenty questions are reserved for thee.

1 Character is female
2 Author is male

============

It's a fun game so ......
Someone pick a new character and provide hints please? Does not have to be in poetic form.

I really want to play! I'm questioning, though, my ability to be as eloquent as you!

Okay...here goes.

This character is male, and originates in a book translated to English. This book is still under copyright.

Let the questioning begin!

Okay DATo, here is my attempt:

Riddle:

First and foremost I'd like to ask,
What can we hear when discerning one's past?
Can we determine another's favored frill,
Whether they'll choose rose, violet, or even daffodil?
Can one be harmed by another's familial pride,
Is there nowhere, from thence, I might convincingly hide?
Flying pantofles to mask ire and shame,
But how, oh how can I return to the same?
Chin raised high; I pretend not to care,
But in truth, I'm overjoyed to have traveled from here to there.

Oh gravy! I must have been typing mine when you submitted yours! Do you have the power to delete mine and save it for later? Either way, let's do yours.

Question:
Is the man European?

You can do yours first!

Or we can do them together. Might be fun. :twisted:

The character is not European :tiphat:

I admit, yours has me a bit stumped...

Is this book still under copyright?
I have one guess, but I'm probably sooo wrong. :lol:

Ok, let's do them together until it inevitably gets horribly mixed up! :D

The original is no longer under copyright although I've just read that later versions are still charging for usage.

Gravy's Riddle:
Question 1: Is he European? No
Question 2: Is the character a child?

NL Hartje - Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz ?

If not, does the child go to another reality other than the one we know in the book you've chosen?

==========================

Gravy - Siddhartha From the book by the same name?

If not, is the book translated from French?

SUGGESTION: Since there are two people with characters to be determined let's dispense with counting questions for this one and just go till one is solved to simplify things for this round only.

No, it is not Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

I never said it was a child (I was asking a question about gravy's riddle in my previous comment), so for the sake of your question, I will answer that no, my character is not a child and they do not travel to an alternate reality.

I have to say though when I read back my hint, Dorothy fits into the clues quite nicely (note-this is not another clue haha)!
