I'm going to go with Steve Jobs because 99% of overachievers quote him as some sort of role model, which I don't get, but that was not the question...

Nope .... the answer to the riddle is a nonorganic entity. It is a deceptively simple answer.

Nope. Something super common, actually.
HINT: I'm often used as an example of harmless radioactivity.

I'm often used as an example of harmless radioactivity.
I can float in water.

This makes me think of bioluminescence but that doesn't jibe with the Marathon or hands and fingers in any way that I can think of. :eusa-think:

Also of luminescent wrist watches but that doesn't satisfy the other clues either and it would be manmade.

A group of [riddle answer] is called a hand.
I'm not bioluminescent, but contain a small amount of radionuclides.

Bananas ????

I've been doing some research .... :lire4:

A clump of Bananas is called a "hand", and they apparently contain radionuclides (much to my surprise). I'm going to assume they can float, but I haven't any at home right now to test the theory. All my bananas have gone to a Friday night dance ... :banana-angel: :banana-blonde: :banana-dance: :banana-dreads:

Great riddle! :greetings-clapyellow: I would never have guessed "bananas" from the first clues; :o but actually, all the clues were applicable. :handgestures-thumbupright:

The Marathon clue kept confusing me. :eusa-think: I didn't know about the funny and creative costumes some people wear during the race :character-ariel: so I couldn't reconcile it with ideas I had gotten from the other clues.

I will return on Monday with a new riddle :greatweekend:
