Yes. I was in Maine in a summer camp van and I had left my passengers at the camp site and was driving back to the camp for more passengers when I saw a fox carrying one of her pups across the road. It was dusk and the sky was beautiful, I was alone in the van and not another soul was on that road, so I stopped the van wishing I had a camera with me. (Cell phones hadn't been invented yet.) She eyed me with suspicion but was not deterred from her mission. She crossed the road several more times with a pup each time. Four in all. After she had completed her job, she looked back at me as if to thank me for standing guard. It was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced and in the telling of that experience would only take away the beauty of it.

Have you ever had an automobile accident?

The reason I asked that question is something that happened to me. When I was about 12 years old we lived in a small town in northern Idaho. A couple friends and I were fooling around in the hills when we found a scorpion under a rock. Everyone we told about it said we were full of it even my parents and teacher, they all said thats ridiculous. Theres no scorpions in Idaho but there was at least one.

Yes I have been in a few car wrecks. First one I was hit by a train, next I wasnt driving but we ran into a drunk driver that pulled out in front of us, next I ran a stop sign because it was behind a bush and got plowed into by a VW, then one where my wife and kids and I were coming home from the movies and had a head-on with a drunk driver. Then just a couple years ago I got hit by a car whose axle broke and went out of control.

Have you ever run out of gas and had to walk a long distance for gas in a can?

Yes, but fortunately for me there was a couple of guys (brothers) who were following me as my car literally came to a stop. They helped me push the car to a safe place and as one stayed with the car, the other drove me to a gas station. He had a gas can with him because he & his brother had a lawn service. I've been blessed when I've had problems with my car when traveling. It has restored my faith in humanity.

Have you ever met anyone that others would consider famous?

Sort of I guess.I was working in a gas station and this one night a guy came in for gas and I filled his tank and he made out a check for the gas. he looked familiar and I thought he was a regular customer I had seen there before. There was a local celebrity named Cliff Carl who was a popular country singer who had a radio and TV show for many years. When he left I looked at the check it was signed Carl W. Cliff. Then I realized who it was.

Have you ever been on TV?

As fate would have it, several times. When I was an athletic director, it was my responsibility to give out the state tournament trophies for each sport for all the men's & women's teams. So I was on t.v. quite a lot.

Have you ever had to do CPR on anyone?

So sorry about your late wife. The had to be a terrible situation.

The was a golfer at a young age, and as I've aged, reading and walking have taken its place.

With reading material, what is your favorite genre?
