Love Sonnet 232

Post by ReyvrexQuestor Reyes »

Till four decades paid their respects to you,
Bestowing on your crown a lighter shade,
Will, only then you’ll know what more is due,
Before the brightness of your star would fade;

The light of day stays only with the sun,
Night will be dark, as dark in dark could be,
But till Old Time, its work is fully done,
The scrolls, your annals, will your beauty see;

But deep inscribed in hearts, you’ll stay as fair,
Your monument would stand eroded not,
As long as eyes have sight, and nose has air,
My mind will never have these things forgot;

If wine, its mellow taste with age attained,
Your crown will have its gems in time obtained.
"In the beginning was the word.........John 1:1"
...To delineate the times that lovers miss,
...A thousand dreams can't beat a single kiss.

Erratum: The first line Till four decades paid their respects to you
I figured, should read better as Till four decades pay their respects to you.
"In the beginning was the word.........John 1:1"
...To delineate the times that lovers miss,
...A thousand dreams can't beat a single kiss.
