This Dumb Love
You mourn for her with me beside you
Your clouded eyes see me as her
My jet black hair dyed in coffee brown
Just like her or what used to be
You don't look into my eyes
The only thing that's different between me and her
My eyes, my deep dark brown eyes
I am nothing but a spare, a replacement
You call her name in pain with your eyes close
Sleeping in agony and your embrace desperate
Longing for warmth, holding onto something, anything
You're with her in your dreams
Contemplating to find a way to stay there forever
You've always wanted to sleep when she left
And as I get up and pull myself together,
You reached for me, once I wished I was her
The taste of bitterness made me chuckle
Wanting to leave but can't anyway
The sad truth is
I've fallen in love with your pain

There is your poem
That moment
Something changed - what happened?
