Ask me who knows what I am going through,
Who encourages me to focus even when I don’t have a clue,
Ask me who’s got my back,
Who still sticks around when we nearly lack.

Ask me who gives me fare to town,
When I am called for a job interview,
Ask me who makes me a clown,
Even when the options for laughter are few.

Ask me who holds the strings of my hopes together,
When the future seems bleak,
Who pushes me to the end of the tether,
When my knees are weak.

Ask me who cuddles me at night,
After a long day hustling on the street,
Who takes me to unimaginable height,
Ask me who insulates me with heat.

Ask me who rejuvenates my broken spirit,
Who gives me a reason to hold on to dear life,
If you ask me who is my perfect fit,
I will tell you it is my dear wife.
