THE WIFE MATERIAL

She owns beauty and something more,
Seemingly sweet like a candy store,
With a fall in stride is how I meet her
Heading to board an elevator in an office pride
The eyes meet and a smile on her face
Makes me Crave for what I do not figure out well
I already have her in my heart and soul,
This modern love.



I’m a woman of my stands
A model of moral probity,
Finding a good man is hard
She would say,
I know a maggot queue that intends to court her,
So she needs to be more than being wined and dined,
I introduce a ring
she says yes but under one condition,
the marriage to be conducted as a ceremony ,
All I need is her, I give in,
this modern love.







On this day,
She is in a black dress with her dramatic skirt,
Her gothic inspired gown features a sheer bodice
With beaded embellishments and lace accents,
It is not until she moves to the side
that I realize like everyone else
her gown has a thigh high slit
and the sheer bodice is actually a full bodysuit,
she is a queen! She is a queen!
Everyone exclaimes as I put a ring on her finger
This modern love.











A couple of months now is all hell
She is a chameleon and now
She manifests herself who she is,
Performing house chores is a sin
But she adores illicit drugs and night clubbing ,
If she attempt
She bungs the crockery
until my house sounds like a factory ,
Do I run from my own house?
She abhors advice and looks down upon me
and now in substitution
tries to box me
She is a lazy lying lion,
She seeks privacy during phone calls
I once eavesdrop and it is not a female voice
Even my pet Bosco can guess the ploy,
this morning, I sermon her
Just to tell her,
Go back to where you come from , go back to your life,
This modern love.

This poem confuses me
Some of the words/ tenses don't seem right.
I really like the tone though =)
