Time and time again
We spoke of a better day;
A good day not so warm
And we counted the minutes
As they flew by...
And we just couldn't wait!
From the other side,
I heard we would fly to the moon,
Make Love on Mars,
And cruise on Venus.
How it sounded so good to be true!
But I pinched myself
And it was just a dream.
I pinched myself again
And it may have been my imagination.
So I woke up
and I dreaded the day I slept.
I woke
And all I had were my words.
The dream was gone.
Something that good,
Can only exist in dreams and thoughts.
Once again,
I am scared to fall asleep
For I may only see a mirage,
For I may never get to touch you.
