Into a Dream

Post by shortguytall »

The evening hours passed into deeper darkness,
While, silently, the orange sun glowing sank,
And quiet rest enveloped all in somber shades.
Day to its rest retired, and all was still.
I myself had lain down to rest, and soon,
I fell asleep, when, during those unconsious
Hours, I had woke inside a lucid dream,
Where I walked down a shady, wooded path,
Rambling on my way, I know not where,
But I controlled my steps, such choice was mine.
I know not how much time had passed, for gone
Were all my worries, and the path it seemed
Familiar, and every sight brought
A pleasant sense of calm and confidence.
But, when I thought that such contentment would
Not last, the world began to fade away,
Shadows, tangible, covered all the world
From my sight... Then, I slowly opened up
My eyes, and there, in blurry disarray,
I saw the signs appear, of an orange sun,
Only this time, I met it there arriving.
