Fragments

Post by authorswrite »

Pieces dropping, falling, tumbling
mingling, jumbling
with these tears
fragments of a life
shards of what used to be
me and you, you and me
recycled
reused
just like
kintsugi
Will someone help me
pick
up
the
pieces
and glue me
back together again.

I had to look up kintsugi but I thought this was beautiful - thank you. It's such a simple idea, but so beautifully executed, with the form matching the content.

I have also added a great new word to my vocabulary, and think the poem is an excellent evocation of a state of mind most of us will have experienced.
An Eye for an Eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
