I see my scars when I see you

With your unending abuses

You mirror my imperfections

And remind me of my mistakes



They see you, they see beauty but

I see my scars when I see you

Your promises, the lies you told

E’en a strong heart cannot withstand



You say ‘Let’s start anew my love’

And though I want to fall again

I see my scars when I see you

And my heart can’t give way again



Oh I thought you were good enough

When I joined you on this journey

But with each try you fail and now

I see my scars when I see you
