If Love is Really that Strong

Post by Cutienerdy21 »

If Love is Really that Strong

If love is really that strong,
Then how can it be taken down by storm?
If love really exist here,
Then why is the end always near?

I asked, "What is love for you?",
One said, " The only thing that is true,
The hope in every sorrow"
I asked again,"Then, where is it now?".

If love is really that strong,
How can one forget about the song?
The one you sang with your heart,
Or your vow to play your part.

Our National Anthem!
Have you forgotten all about them?
The heroes who fought for us,
Will their effort be turned into dust?

If love is really that strong,
Then why are pain and sufferings are born?
To the poor Filipinos,
Starving and abused in their own home.

Endless war and painful death,
To the ones whose life already set,
Corruptions are everywhere,
To the poor country, love is nowhere.

If love is really that strong,
Then I want it to be stronger.
So it may overpower,
And that love can be everywhere.

Just found it in my old papers... My poetry assignment during high school!
sighs... I always wanted to write a nice and loving poetry but somehow, it always ended up like this...

I like the structure and the rhyming of your poem. I initially thought that this is about romantic love, I didn't expect the plot twist in the middle. Hehe. Thanks for sharing this! Keep writing!

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night."

You wrote this in high school? That's nice. I was more of a prose person in high school. I only started poetry in my first year in the university. This poem is very insightful. My highlight:
I asked, "What is love for you?",
One said, " The only thing that is true,
The hope in every sorrow"

Keep writing!
