When I wrote this, my twelve year old daughter had died not too long before. I was in a state of turmoil andmy drunken mind was a mess. Obviously.

Don?t turn me away when we meet again,
Don?t make me feel we never knew each other.
Hold me like you did when I was your father, because I still am.
I want to know you as you were,
All smiles and giggles and pouts.
I want you to ask me how and why,
I just want to be your dad again.
I don?t want you to be all knowing and wise, I want to see the wonder in
your eyes.
I want to hear your plans and dreams and share them.
I sit in your room and remember your smile.
I touch your clothes and favourite things.
They must mean as much to you now as they did then.
You felt only love so that couldn?t change by going.
I see our faces here now. We have grown old and we are lost.
