I guess I'm taking the long way home
and it's taking me years
to find my way back
or am I just scared to see the things
that aren't there anymore?

maybe I am scared to walk pass
the streets that were once familiar to me
and see the people that I once left behind
because sometimes leaving is easier
than telling the truth

it will give you the freedom you want
the freedom that you craved for
but then find out bliss is temporary
I am still shackled from the past I left behind
of memories I play on my mind

when the nights are long
and the coldness reminds you of something else
of scenarios that I desperately wish
I should've said the right words
even if the timing was wrong

The poem is easily understood, but not so delightful. Great job.
