Untitled Poem #?

Post by Songbird413 »

When was the last time that it mattered
How we live and die?
Why is it that we falter
And simply let life pass us by?
Every person that we talk to
Every single life we touch
Is so deeply important
Yet still we fear to say too much.
Where are the days of conversation
Around a cozy fire
Dreaming of how in this world
One could the Light inspire?
How oft is there debate
Over how the world is run?
How oft is it being questioned
WHY what's been done is done?
Since when did all we care about become
Who's with who and what team won?
Why did we let ourselves lose sight
Of all the good we can become?

Phenomenal, this reminds me of how often we only seem to exist instead of actually living. Living and being grateful for every precious moment of life.

Beautiful poem, the flow is wonderful. And your tone creates this character in my mind. Some old woman hobbles onto the stage and says this poem with exasperation. I'd say a good title is either the first or the last line. "lose sight of all the good" could be a title. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem. Have a wonderful day.
