My Love

Post by Sanamarie »

We sit at home,
Not doing anything
Not talking
You look across at me
Your eyes twinkle with mischief
You didn’t do the dishes
And you smile at me
Your front tooth is crooked

Its cold outside
When we go out at 2 am
For the walk
So I put my hand in yours
And both go into your pocket
We walk like this, stuck together
Down the empty streets
And I feel it bubble up in my chest,
I love you

Wow. 😊 Did this happen in real life?

Wow wow wow. Such great moments of love portrayed in the lines of this piece. I noted the irony and sarcasm in the first stansa.... Your teeth is crooked(ugly), didn't do the dishes (lazy) ... Who loves such a person? It only brings the message that love goes beyond boundaries of looks and imperfections.
Harmony in chaos. It's all a matter of perspective.

The same for me, I blushed while reading this lovely poem. Reminds me of pure, genuine love.
