It's a piece that can be read daily as part of one's self affirmations. A sobering reminder

It seems like you have expressed a set of aspirations and ideals that you would like to embody in your life. It's admirable to strive for personal growth and balance in various aspects of your life. While it can be challenging to achieve all these qualities simultaneously, it's worth pursuing a well-rounded and meaningful existence

"To be stubbornly decisive and self-determined, but accepting of that which you cannot control."
How we often forget that everything isn't in our control even though we made a well strategic plan for life.
Well thought through

This is awesome poem I like it, I think in line 9 would have been to be alive, but not dead and 10 to be content not discontent
other than that he made elegance of movement, all are touched by the words I also give credit, I give Scott Hughes 2 out of 5

Ahhhhh, to tread barefoot blindfolded
gentle whispers in the wind,
amongst the wheat and flowers,
I caress, gently tiptoeing through the rest,
A babbling brooke, the cry of an eagle.
This is the Grace i wish upon the people!

The conclusion just say it all, " to turn your life around" after encouraging you to do it all on the positive. Great poem

What Grace Means to Me
by Scott Hughes

To be extremely confident, but not at all arrogant.

To be brave, but not fearless.

To be stoically tough, but not painless.

To be inspired, but not restless.

To have calm endurance without laziness.

To be motivated, but not greedy.

To have fun in this life, without addiction, attachment, or desperate clinginess.

To love and appreciate, without jealousy, cowardly possessiveness, or controlling anger.

To be alive, but not discontent.

To be content, but not dead.

To live as a mortal human, without becoming only human.

To treat your flesh as your temple, but not your true self.

To be at war in the material world, without losing inner peace.

To be kind, but not dishonest.

To love and forgive unconditionally, but only trust intelligently.

To be assertive, but not aggressive.

To forcefully defend your own as needed, but not offensively attack others.

To set boundaries without crossing boundaries.

To be rebellious and free, but not a tyrant.

To pick your battles stingily, but fight the battles you pick with incredible stubborn determination.

To rarely choose to do, but to do your best when you do.

To be stubbornly decisive and self-determined, but accepting of that which you cannot control.

To do your best with the metaphorical cards you’re dealt, without trying to change the cards at all.

To do, without trying.

To achieve ultimate inner peace without having to first suffer ultimate outward devastation.

To choose to make where you are now your personal rock bottom before hitting actual rock bottom.

To choose to turn your life around before it is too late and there is no life left to turn around.
The depth of this piece is just excellent. The secret to a happy life is balance and this poem portrays that perfectly. I love the entire piece but my favorite line is "To be rebellious and free but not a tyrant" it set off a torrent of philosophical thoughts in me.

Grace is my favorite word for all the reasons you listed. How I imagine angels are. Thank you for articulating what Grace means to me as well.

This poem speaks volumes and in so many areas. My favorite line is: "To love and forgive unconditionally, but only trust intelligently." Due to we all love and forgive, but sometimes we have to walk away because of this.that line can go towards anyone love or friendship.
Love the poem.

It’s important to stop and remember what our values are and then check in with ourselves and see if we are being true to those values. Life gets busy and we need reminders like this poem to do this.
