SIMPLE THINGS THAT BILL GATES DON'T KNOW
Butch Acuña
Bill Gates is the second richest man in the planet next to Jeff Besos CEO and Founder of Amazon, a position that he reached by creating the most in demand computer programs since the dawn of the age of the computer and nano technology, through Microsoft, which shot down IBM as the highest earning computer related company and was once the leading maker of computer hardware world wide.
Today, Bill and Melinda gates are worth over 91 billion dollars and are busy doing charity, through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
What if there are no computerized banking system today and everybody keep's their money at home and pay for every purchase with cash, how would it inconvenience billionaires like Bill and Melinda Gates?
With their combined wealth estimated at $91.8 billion, if converted to one hundred dollar bills what be its total weight ? It would weigh more than 2622 metric tons. This is based upon a journal of a CIA operation stating that based on their experience, 35 million dollars in one hundred dollar denomination weigh's 1 metric ton ( 1,000 kilos ). But how smart is Bill Gates?
Do not be intimidated by Bill Gates, he is not so smart, this was proven by Ellen de Generes recently when the computer genius was invited by Ms. Generes to play a game of guessing the prevailing prices of consumer items the average American normally buy almost everyday.
Ellen enumerated five household items to test his knowledge on the price of certain items: before the game began she asked Bill Gates when was the last time that he went shopping, to which he replied, " a long time ago."
The audience may help the contestant by urging him to go up or lower his answer. Ellen began with Rice a roni.
Bill estimated the price at $5, way off, the correct answer is $1.
Next were Tide pods, which he guessed at $4, the audience made some noise, urging him to go up with his estimate; he changed it to $10.
The correct answer? $19.97
This was followed by dental floss, which he described as " my best chance " his guess?
$4, which is nearly exact, the real price is $3.78 his answer was deemed correct by the host. This is his only correct answer.
For Totino's Pizza Rolls, he overshot again at $22.
The correct price? $8.98
For the dip he guessed, $10
The correct answer is, $3.66
He later explained that he guessed higher because it is branded.
Do not despair Gates fanatics, his ignorance about prices of basic commodities is offset by his compassion for the needy. Through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, they have donated over forty billion dollars to various causes, from scientific research to find a cure for cancer, fight malaria and other disease plaguing humanity, to reduction of poverty and improving education. The foundation disburses an average of 4 to 5 billion dollars a year for the aforementioned advocacies.
Further, to help us understand why they lack knowledge about mundane things, one must understand that they cannot do things that mortals like us consider as normal like walking to the grocery to buy on impulse.
Their lives are trapped in a program that makes sure that they won't be exposed to danger, dangers that are attracted like iron to a magnet by fame and fortune and their aversion towards wrong words and actions by some elected officials.
Play it again Bill.
