I began reading this book a while back, but it just started out excruciatingly slow for me, so I stopped. After reading through these reviews, I'm tempted to give this book another shot.

Looooong overdue. Finally managed to snag it at the library. It was a slow start, but it also picked up at the back. I can't say that I love "The Miniaturist", but I did enjoy reading it. However, I think I got lost somewhere, and by the end, I didn't understand the point of the book. The ending didn't help either. It just seemed so rushed.

I haven't read read this book yet. I am looking forward to read it.

I found this book fascinating and it made me want to read to the end, but when I was finished I felt slightly unsatisfied. The plot wasn't as tight as I would have liked, but Burton's writing style made up for it. I have her newest book, The Muse waiting on my shelf. Both have stunning covers, too!

Loved this book when I read it. Brilliant historical fiction, and amazing characters.

I also loved reading this book. The plot of the story and the characters themselves were awesome and really entertaining to read.

I know this topic has been dead for a while, but with the new miniseries out, the book is gaining popularity again. I remember disliking the book, but I couldn’t remember why. I’m glad I had this forum to come back to! I now remember feeling annoyed at having read a book that seemed so pointless! My opinion is definitely in the minority, though! I keep hearing rave reviews from the people checking out the book and the series at the library!

I really like the idea of these miniature houses and I like reading books about long ago, but, all in all, this book kinda took me for a loop. I was hoping the ending would be much more positive than it was. Depressing! It was interesting learning about life in the Netherlands. I would give it 3 out of 4 stars.
