Thank you for this touching review. I love poetry, and especially poetry that makes you think. I read the sample where I was able to view the first poem in its entirety and it is heartwrenching. I have never been out of North America, but this author's descriptions of her homeland put me right there with her. This book will go to my library.

I'm not much of a fan of poetry, but this book does like a very deep, emotional read. Seems like the author had a rough life, and she uses poetry to channel her emotions and share them with readers. Thanks for the review.

It is true that poetry has to convey messages emotionally, and I am glad that the author did more than this. I am also very happy noting that the poems are also meaningful and memorable. Thanks much for the review.

'Official Review: A Loaf Of Bread by Rana Bitar' unveils the truth of the author's life. The description is elaborate and technical. I feel more involved in world matters, reading about war. The review has a clear ending!

"A Loaf Of Bread", by Rana Bitar from Syria is a book of poetry about her home place and the people during the civil war. The book contains ten poems which some are short while others are four pages long. These poems are full of metaphors, some you understand when you first read them while others you will have to read again to understand and some are full of innuendos. Bitar did a great job describing how she felt about the loss, death, destruction and sorrow. I like some poetry but some of these were a bit too long for me. The author did do a good job writing and editing this book so I will give it 3*'s.

I’m not always interested in reading poetry, but this review makes me want to go and read this book. Between the small snippets of text and the historical and cultural significance of the Syrian Civil War, this sounds like an impactful and interesting read.

Thanks for the thorough review. I don't typically read poetry because it's often hard to relate to. However, I did read some sample pages and it's intriguing. I do like reading stories that are thought-provoking and emotional. I'm going to give this book a shot!
