Thoughts on Thomas Hardy Poems?

Is he a realist or a pessimist? Are his poems boring or engaging? Are they too easily dissected or do you enjoy the simplicity of them?

Hardy will be perceived as boring to the typical contemporary youth as his style of writing carries a very stable and slow rhythm and his themes are socio/religious ones dealing with ordinary features of life conducted by ordinary rather than extraordinary men.
