I appreciate the poetic flair of the poet, actually poems aren't really my thing. In your review you said you find it difficult to decipher the meaning of some line, that's what I found challenging in most poem too but I do appreciate the beautiful usage of words. The review was great, thanks.

For me poetry is not my thing.. But it's good that you found it's goodness despite the undecipherable words in the poem. Thank you for a good review

Great review. Sadly, I'm not a huge fan of poetry, so I'll be giving this one a miss.

I thought this was delightful! Purchased after reading the sample. I didn't have any issues with the language.

It sounds like a difficult book to understand. I am not a fan of poetry, and it sounds like these poems are not for beginners like me. Good that it is about everyday life, though. May make it somewhat easier to get through!

I love poetry, its thought provoking and viscerally human. I haven't read all the greats and I intend on reading more poetry and catching up. Viewing everyday relatable experiences through another's eyes is so important and meaningful.

I love the written word, but poetry has always been a bit difficult for me to decipher, and this review leads me to believe this collection would be no different. I prefer the things I read to be more straightforward, but I'm glad you were able to enjoy the poems.

The purpose of poetry is to make us think. However, if there are words that may be generally unfamiliar, a footnote is in order. Sometimes we use words very familiar in our own culture or background, but unfamiliar to others. I think this is the case here. Again, a short definition in a footnote makes the poems relevant to a larger audience.

Freeverse poems are some of my favourites as long as they are cohesive

Thanks for the review, but poetry is currently at the bottom of my list of interest. Although a table of contents wouldn’t be a turn-off, I can relate to the challenges of not having one. I’ll consider looking at this one again in the future when my poetry phase returns....which will happen!

I’m one of those occasional poet readers and admittedly have to be very moved by a poem to enjoy it. It sounds like this one might be worth checking out. I definitely think it’s fascinating that the things you enjoyed most were also the things you disliked most. I’ve noticed a lot of great things are like that. Thanks for your review.

The reviewer mentions having no table of contents in the copy for review, yet the sample provided by Amazon is unfortunately only the table of contents plus introductory statement!
This is a shame as I would have appreciated reading and commenting on one of the free verse poems also.

To the reviewer: ‘Tell tale till goes kaching’, sounds like it could be explained as:
Tell (a) tale, (and the money) till goes kaching [the noise of a money till].

I would be interested to read more from what sounds like a fascinating author, but without experiencing her work, this becomes less likely.

A refreshing collection of poetry, I like the title but not the confused cover. In my opinion, free-verse is a very powerful format of poetry and a pleasant read.
