Without reading the book myself, the simple but powerful one line example you chose: “I kissed a conservative today, and she kissed me liberally!”, made such a magnificent impact, at that present moment, I started trying to see the world in new ways. A detailed and eloquent review. Well done.

Great review. Too bad about the preface. I really don't read poetry but I do know some reader friends who really might enjoy this collection of poems. With the poems being varied in theme and style. Yet remaining tied together it sounds like there is something for most poetry lovers. Thanks for sharing.

I think if this review was the introduction for this book, everyone who read it would want the book. Reading through the preface on Amazon the first thing that came to my mind was that I don't want to read this book. However, this review makes me want to read it. 'Plumbing used to explain neighbourly love'. That is certainly a poem I would like to read. Thanks for a great review.

I'm not usually a poetry reader, but I'm willing to try the sample of this one and maybe it will sway me! Thanks for the review.

Thank you for the honest and thorough review. I'm not a huge reader of poetry but if I did pick this one up I'd probably be pretty likely to skip over those long intro sections.

Great review! This part of your review has convinced me that I should read the book, "The unexpected metaphor is one of poetry’s most valuable tools to help readers see the world in new ways, and Robin Rabii uses it masterfully." :tiphat:

I'm not much of a poetry reader, but it sounds like this collection covers some interesting themes and has clever plays on words. Thanks for the review.

Great review! This book of poems seems like it has a little bit of everything. Unfortunately, I don't think it's something I would read considering the violent and sexual content and the long introduction. :P

Thank you for your great review. I, myself, found it hard to get through the preface. I was sadden that the sample did not show any of the poems. Your review has made me want to read this collection even though I do not usually do poetry.

Even though poetry is not my cup of tea right now, your review is very interesting and well done. Nice job! It sounds like the book tackles relevant issues we face, and your review highlights that.
