Netherrealm Book 1: Heed the Darkness is a well-crafted book. The third-person point of view employed by the author is perfect for this novel as it aids the reader to relate to all the characters. I absolutely loved the author's writing style. The way she meshed Old English with the modern version of the language is admirable. It brought alive the medieval period of England. In a span of twenty-five chapters, Ross made the reader live the period of Anarchy. I have to mention that the book ended on a perfect cliff-hanger. It made the reader pine for the next book.

Ross did a terrific job at characterization. All the characters were well-developed.
Wow! It takes some serious talent and hard work to create such a complicated plot with an amazing vocabulary and well-developed characters.
It goes straight to my shelves.
Thanks!
I completely agree with you.
Hope you have fun reading it.

I like time travel stories, so that is a plus. The character development sounds really good to make you root for so many characters individually. Thanks for the lovely review, it certainly helped me to make my mind about it.

At first glance, she was a loathsome creature. As the story progressed, the reader gradually came to see her plight.
At times, it takes a bit more effort to see what the truth really is. Everyone deserves a chance, indeed. Thank you for your thoughtful review.

I will have to wait on reading this one. I am working on exploring other genres, including historical fiction, but your review does entice me to read the book. Thanks!

This book has a lot of dimensions, in that it covers the medieval and modern times in England with the language and the characters. It is good to hear that the characters were well-developed, as well as the plot and that the cliffhanger made you wanting more. Bethany and Gerrat's character growth sounds interesting.
