This is a historical fiction novel that follows Christian religion and Jesus. It highlights friendship, slavery, poverty, and faith. There is a free sample of the book on Amazon Kindle and the book has a unique OnlineBookClub review. Congrats @RWNelson7 for the BOTD.

It seems like an uplifting and heart-wrenching book at the same time. Beggar boys (and girls) are a common occurrence in my country and, just like in the book, they're often been exploited by an adult. I'm glad this boy has a much more blessed experience than most of the ones in this day and age. It's also a very nice way to learn more about Jesus, especially with the study parts.
Thank you for your review.

Thank you for your review of today's Historical Fiction BOTD! This sounds like an engaging book with a new take on stories from the Bible. I'm not sure it's for me, but I have added it to my WTR list in case I want to come back to it in the future. Much appreciated! :-)

It sounds cool how they took biblical events and interwove it with fiction. It sounds really neat!

A different take on the of Jesus when he began his ministry here on earth. The story is one of the most uplifting stories have read so far.

Sound like a great book. I never New that Jewish elders hated Jesus. Wish to read more!

I am not a Christian, yet I love to read stories which are related to Christianity. So, I will give a try for this one. Congratulations on being BOTD

Telling a story of seven beggar children living during the time of Jesus sounds like an interesting twist. The Beggar Boy learns of forgiveness. I wonder if the other children meet Jesus as well. It is good to hear that the book was edited well.

A historical fiction about Jesus with a unique perspective. Zachary sounds like a very interesting character and I can completely see how this story would tug at the heart strings. Thanks for the great review!

Seems like an interesting book. I never realised that the practice of using young kids to go begging by a taskmaster started as early as biblical times. Thanks for the wonderful review!

Who I would be focused on mostly are the beggars. I'm quite interested in knowing their story.

Your review, along with the free sample, have intrigued me enough to consider reading this book. Historical fiction books and books about the Bible have never been my choice of genre, however, I do enjoy books about friendship and forgiveness and I love seeing growth in a main character.
