I don't really enjoy books about war and survivors of war, but your review is very well-written and informative. You showed that this is a good read for someone who likes reading tales that show the human side of tragedy. Great job. 💕

I'm glad they found each other to travel with, someone to help them keep it together through the horror. When traveling in Europe, my mother-in-law was moved to tears when we came across a guard tower, a field with signs warning of possible unexploded mines and...an open gate. This sounds like it will give that same feeling, too sad but also, hopefully, a triumph.

Following orphaned teenager Jedrek and bad-tempered Viktor as they journey together 2,500 miles across Europe during WWII sounds like a unique journey. It's great to hear that the quality of writing is good even though it was the author's first book. Hand-drawn maps, footnotes, translations, and realistic writing sure makes this sound like a well-rounded text. I think the death, destruction, and the horrors of war may be a bit much for me, but I'm glad you enjoyed this book. Thanks for sharing!

I don't read historical fiction, but this review makes it seem like the book is really well-written and showcases the relationship between the characters in a way that makes readers feel attached to them. Great review!

Thank you for a lovely review, it was a joy to read :) I like that the author doesn't shy away from the torture and sexuality aspects of the war, this is often areas you don't get covered from boring old textbooks. I'm looking forward to reading this one.

I think it's cool that this was a fictitious historical journey through Poland, Germany, and France during WWII. Also glad that it's well written. Great review.

This sounds like a great book presented in a realistic and relatable manner. However since I've read so many books related to WW II I'm not sure whether I'll want to read any more books related to that subject even if I like history and historical novels very much. So thanks for your review.

The Strength of Wills by Allen Walker is a #HistoricalFiction inspired by a true story of a Polish teenager and an older ex-military officer on an extraordinary and dangerous #Journey through Poland, Germany, and France at the height of #WorldWarII.

I am not into war, so I will bypass reading this book. Thanks for the review.

The journey reminds me of the film Journey to the centre of the world. Two partners start a journey, and with the difficulties of the journey, their bond slowly gets stronger like a father and son. Congo on BOTD.

Nice review, very detailed. This book is quite interesting for me for i like histories, how authors tell stories about war time and and illustrate other countries.

I love books about World War 2, it gives insight into how the world was then. It also makes the horrible events seem more feasible, instead of just seeing pictures.

This sounds like a well written book about Jedrek's journey through WWII. I love the idea of writing through journal entries as I also agree it gives the book a nice personal touch. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Great review!
